Filters for infrared images
This section introduces our filters for infrared images.
Principles
Figure 1 shows the structure of an infrared image sensor. A filter for infrared images is used on the window part of an infrared image sensor. A filter for infrared images has high transmission band performance in the 8 to 14 μm band and blocking band performance to cut the stray light. Using a filter makes it possible to increase the amount of infrared light entering the IR sensor while also removing stray light.
In addition, infrared image sensors require vacuum sealing to increase their sensitivity. Therefore, to support the vacuum sealing by solder bonding, we also support metal coating on the outer periphery of the substrate.
