Filters for human detection sensors

This section introduces our filters for use on human detection sensors.

Principles

A human detection sensor reacts to the infrared radiation emitted from a human body to detect humans. The temperature of a human body is around 36°C, and in that case, it emits infrared radiation with a peak at 9 to 10 μm. The pyroelectric element used in the detection part has low wavelength dependence for infrared light, but it is possible to detect a human body with high sensitivity by combining the pyroelectric element with a filter that transmits light in the 9 to 10 μm range, which corresponds to the infrared light emitted by a human body.

Features

Ideally, a sensor would use a band-pass filter that only transmits the infrared light emitted by the human body, from 9 to 10 μm. However, for cost reasons, long-pass filters are more commonly used. We respond to various requests, such as regarding the cut-on wavelength.

Spectroscopic characteristics: Long pass filter type (with cut-on wavelength as required), band filter type

Material: Ge, Si, etc.

Size: Square, round (6-inch wafer support)

Quantity: We support anything from one filter to mass production.

Durability: Our products can be cut for use.

They can be delivered in the wafer state and then cut by the customer for use. We can also cut them before delivery.

Quality assurance: We meet your needs.
Constant temperature and humidity tests, heat cycle tests, heat resistance tests, boiling tests, adhesion confirmation tests

Applications

Air conditioning, lighting, clinical thermometers, automatic doors, automatic hand washing on faucets
