Filter for CD & DVD pick-up





Optical pick-up configuration

Here we introduce a representative example of its configuration with wavelengths used. An optical pick-up uses a laser of 790nm wavelength for CD recording/playing and one of 650nm wavelength for DVD recording/playing. Beams emitted from the 2 lasers are guided to the disc or monitoring PD dividing and/or combining the polarization components at several points in the light path. Figure 1 shows the representative configuration of DVD, CD re-writable type pick-up.



Fig. 2 shows optical characteristics for those filters and mirrors used in such pick-up.















Other than the above mirrors and filters, OCJ will create optimal filters and mirrors matching your demand such as transmission rate, reflection rate, polarization, phase difference, etc. We are also working on the development of the next generation high-density optical disc using a 405nm wavelength blue ray laser.
